SAR Team Member Recognised in the New Years Honours

The team were recently delighted to hear that one of our long serving members, Brian Jackson (BEM) was recognised in the New Years Honours for his dedication to the communities of Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. Brian joined the team almost 10 years ago and has attended hundreds of call-outs for Leicestershire Police, giving over 500 hours of his time to assist vulnerable members of our community at a time of need.

Alongside his SAR role he has worked with the Duke of Edinburgh scheme for over 30 years, supporting countless teenager to develop valuable life skills.

More recently Brian has volunteered weekly in support of the vaccine rollout program, and assisted with the running of the very first vaccine hub in Leicestershire from day one.

We congratulate him on his recognition and thank him for his continued service with the team.
