Leicestershire Search & Rescue is a team of highly trained and dedicated volunteers who work alongside Leicestershire Police with the aim of locating vulnerable missing people and preserving life. Working to national standards under the guidance of Lowland Rescue, we form part of wider UKSAR strategy.
We provide trained search personnel, search management, swift water rescue and advanced medical capability along with many other services.
Our search team support Leicestershire Police, East Midlands Ambulance & Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. Providing valuable resources 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In addition to supporting our local community we also provide assistance to our neighbouring teams in, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire & Warwickshire.

The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their communities. It was created in 2002 to celebrate the anniversary of The Queen's coronation. It is the MBE for volunteer groups.

The Association of Lowland Search and Rescue, more commonly using the name Lowland Rescue, is a voluntary organisation in the UK that governs teams who assist the emergency services in the search for missing persons. It is part of UKSAR operators group appointed by the Department for Transport.
Lowland Rescue consists of 36 affiliated search teams who are each an individual charity.
