lowland rescue chairman visits leicsar in show of support

The team were honoured to host the Chairman of Lowland Rescue at our headquarters recently. Sean McCarry took some time to come and meet team members involved in a high profile search back in March. His visit highlighted the invaluable partnership between regional teams and the national body Lowland Rescue.

Sean has a wealth of knowledge entering a career in SAR back in 1980 where he spent many years with the Coastguard in Northern Ireland and overseas. He is the founder of the Community Rescue Service in Northern Ireland (CRS) and was appointed Chairman of Lowland Rescue back in 2023.

He offered support and thanks to the members of LEICSAR and other teams from across the country that came to our assistance during the protracted incident.

Lowland Rescue teams operate 110 emergency vehicles, 64 drones, 50 rescue boats and seven sonar teams nationally, deploying to over 1665 incidents in 2022 and providing over 70,000 man hours on search.

We offer our sincere thanks to Sean and the many teams that support us in our efforts to return vulnerable missing persons back to their families……
